Resources for Helping Children

Alpine Academy: (Part of Youth Village) The Village changes the lives of troubled children and families and offers residential care in Treatment Foster Homes and in Group Homes. The Village also offers in-home help through Families First, an intensive program that teaches parents valuable skills. Other programs include Parenting For Success classes, therapy, and privately funded higher education grants for Village graduates.

One of the Group Homes is the Village's Alpine Academy which provides residential treatment for teenage girls from all over the country. Located in rural Tooele County, Utah, Alpine Academy provides a small, family-style environment with an emphasis on individualized treatment and academic excellence, using the Teaching-Family Model, the treatment model used in all Village programs. Hope Meadows: Hope Meadows is a unique residential community -- a five-block small-town neighborhood where neglected and abused children who have been removed from their biological parents for their safety, find a permanent and caring home, as well as grandparents, playmates and an entire neighborhood designed to help them grow up in a secure and nurturing environment. Hope Meadows is a place where children, adoptive parents and surrogate grandparents develop supportive relationships capable of healing the hurts of abuse and neglect - a place where three generations care for and learn from each other.
